Bay Scallop (Argopecten irradians): Transplanted from its original habitat—Nantucket Island, Massachusetts—in the early 80’s across the Atlantic Ocean to Long Island, China in the Pacific Ocean, it now dominates 90% of the North American bay scallop market.

Farrer’s Scallop (Chlamys Farreri):The original, sweet scallop species inhabited the seabed around Long Island, China for thousands of years. Farming of this scallop was started in late 70’s in the clear water of Bohai Bay around Long Island.
